Abstract:

In the field of multimedia translation, one of the trickiest challenges relates to translation of children’ s cartoons. Animated cartoons may appear puerile but they can play an essential role in child’ s mental and emotional development and education. Dubbing and subtitling are the main modes of animated cartoon translations. Each of them interferes into the original version to some extent in order to make it sound natural, educational and entertaining to the target audience. With the use of descriptive method, the present study investigates the translation of twelve animated cartoon titles from English into Persian in 1980s to early 2000s and compares them in terms of factual Beliefs and Evaluative Beliefs which are proposed by van Dijk (1998). While the former refers to the shared knowledge of the society, the latter is concerned with judgments and values, which constitute ideologies. When a factual belief from source society is replaced by an Evaluative belief or opinion in target society, it can be considered as a false factual belief. The results demonstrated that in translation of animated cartoons titles, Iranian translators frequently preferred free translation since they changed factual Beliefs to false one or replaced them by Evaluative ideologies. The effects of such changes on children are inevitable.

Abstract:

Background: In acute myocardial infarction (MI), hypoxia, through the hypoxia-inducible factor pathway, increases the level of apelin, protecting the myocardium from ischemia-reperfusion injury.  Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the level of apelin-12 in the early and late phases of MI.  Methods: In this prospective observational study, 98 patients were randomly included with the following criteria: chest pain lasting for more than 30 minutes, a 12-lead ECG with ST-segment elevation, a rise of cardiac troponin I, and a primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) within 12 hours. Blood samples were collected on the first day (early phase) and the seventh day (late phase) after reperfusion therapy. Continuous variables are expressed as mean ± standard deviation or median (range), while categorical variables are expressed as percentages. We compared the variables using the Wilcoxon test and evaluated the variability of apelin values with the Kruskal-Wallis test. We checked the degree of association and correlation between two variables with the Mann-Whitney test and Pearson correlation, respectively.  Results: On the first day of the early phase after MI, the median apelin-12 level was 2.73 (0.46 –15.24), which was significantly higher than the seventh-day value of 2.32 (0.25 – 10.89) (P = 0.003 on Wilcoxon test). With the Kruskal-Wallis test, variability in apelin-12 values was noted on the first day relative to segmental wall motion abnormalities (P = 0.043) and on the seventh day relative to the number of coronary stenoses (P < 0.001). The Mann-Whitney test of the post-PCI final thrombolysis in MI (TIMI) flow grade (patients without reperfusion injury: TIMI 3; patients with reperfusion injury: TIMI ≤ 2) and the apelin-12 levels during the early phase of MI revealed a statistically significant difference (P = 0.002).  Conclusions: Differences in apelin-12 between the early and late phases may reflect the activity of the apelin-angiotensin receptor-like axis in patients with MI.

Abstract:

Background and Objective: Today, on the city’, s issues Context, recent intellectual orientations are being born. Low carbon city is one of the newest theoretical and practical ideas about how modern sustainable urban management and city and urban life development. In this regard, the study of sources in this field shows that the establishment of low-carbon conceptual structures due to the multiplicity of sides in themselves tended to scatter in their subject areas and this process can be effective during on the related knowledge. The main goal of this research is to develop a conceptual model of low-carbon cities in order to read and recognize its concept and theory. Material and Methodology: In this research, a theoretical and Evaluative model of reading low-carbon cities accordance with the available texts with a theoretical orientation has been prepared and compiled by Qualitative approach and Documentary research. The research period is between 1400-1401. Fidings: The low-carbon city is theoretically a multilevel conceptual structure with the possibility of polygonal readings in categories, defining and evaluating procedures. According on the mentioned Gap, formulating one or a set of conceptual and Evaluative models,It makes possible the integrated reading of this new mental and objective concept of future urban planning on world scale. Discussion & Conclusion: the conceptual structure of low carbon city has special and unique coordinates that has not been theoretically considered and integrated by researchers. it is possible to have a more accurate and complete knowledge of the low carbon city, and at the same time, the development options of this model are possible in future researches in accordance with the advances in knowledge

Abstract:

The issue of abrogation (naskh), abrogating (nasikh), and abrogated (mansukh) verses in the Qur'an is among the significant discourses of the Qur'anic sciences. One kind of abrogation is the abrogation of talawat (recitation), toward which there are three approaches among the Muslims: the first approach believes in the abrogation of talawat and seeks to prove it relying on traditions as well as rational argumentation. The second approach, which does not regard the traditions about abrogation of talawat as irrevocable, tries to prove the abrogation of talawat through rational argumentation. The third approach has in a well-reasoned way rejected the abrogation of talawat and refused to accept the traditions and the rational argumentations. In the present research, following examining and critically reviewing the evidence of those maintaining the abrogation of talawat, we have concluded that this abrogation of talawat is the outcome of hasty understanding by a number of interpreters and Islamic scholars, past and present, and that perhaps the likelihood of abrogation of talawat can be rationally accepted.

Abstract:

Robert Adams, Inspired by William Alston's theory of doxastic practice, forms his moral epistemology and coins the term of “Evaluative doxastic practice”. The inputs of Evaluative doxastic practice are historical and cultural tradition, as well as feelings, emotions, inclinations and desires. These inputs accompanied with thinking about them bring about moral Beliefs as outputs of Evaluative doxastic practices. In Adams’ view, moral faith provides the confidence base of moral Beliefs formed thorough Evaluative doxastic practices. Moral faith is necessary because the moral Beliefs are not above any kind of reasonable doubt, Although there are not any reasons against them.
